Cedar Park TX Real Estate - like many of the Old West Texas towns, was originally an old railroad town that was settled back in the late 1800’s. A narrow gauge railroad was built in 1881 that ran from Austin to Burnet, through the middle of Cedar Park Texas; which transported the granite blocks for re-building and remodeling the state capitol building in Austin. The original Cedar Park old town became known as Brueggerhoff, which was one of the railroad company manager’s last names. The Cedar Park had an unusual nickname too: Running Brushy named after Brushy Creek’s strong-flowing spring and creek.
Then in 1973, the city of Cedar Park voted to incorporate and the Cedar Park TX Real Estate market slowly began to grow as Austin's popularity grew.

Today, a popular Twilight Flyer vintage steam train is located in Cedar Park Texas and runs excursions through the Texas Hill Country. The Austin Steam Train Association in 1990 bought and rebuilt the Southern Pacific locomotive, No. 786, which was a vintage 1916 143-ton engine.
