Leander Texas Real Estate - and Buying Leander Homes For Sale
 

The Leander Texas Real Estate market is booming with fantastic residential housing and retail growth in the far northwest part of the Austin Texas Real Estate MLS listings.  With the availability of raw undeveloped land here, builders are continuing to expand.  Although once considered a small town, the current growth is causing Leander to  have to plan for a very exciting and growing future. Leander Texas is just north of the Cedar Park TX Real Estate community and to the west of the Round Rock Real Estate market in the Texas Hill Country.  The town is situated in Williamson County on relatively flat ground. There are many oaks, cedars and junifer trees and a limestone rock ground.

The town of Leander was originally settled as a railroad town in the mid-1800's and was officially named after Mr. Leander Catfish Brown - who was a supervisor who helped complete the railroad line through town. Early Leander Real Estate was the area north of the Austin Texas Real Estate where cotton & cedar fence posts/cedar cut wood/planking where shipped out by the railroads (cedar wood prohibits insect destruction from termites and lasts long. Ranchers & farmers today still use cedar posts for their durability.)  The 1970's and 1980's brought the first real growth to Leander Texas as subdivisions were designed in the original Leander Real Estate markets for families wanting to live in a more rural setting than in Austin Texas Real Estate.
 
   Leander Texas Independent School District (ISD)
 
Today, the Leander TX Real Estate has a growing population over 25,000 - and continues to expand!  The Leander Independent School District is now Williamson's County largest school district and is now the #1 fastest growing school district in Texas too. The excellent Leander ISD School's are now the largest school district in Williamson County, and have the distinction as the fastest growing school district in all of Texas!   In the Leander Independent School District, there are 3 high schools, 6 middle schools and currently 17 elementary schools. You and your kids will really enjoy the top quality ranked elementary, middle and high schools in the Leander Texas Real Estate community or the Cedar Park Real Estate market.
